2013 EAA Chapter 106 Youth Scholarship

Do you have A  DEMONSTRATED*  PASSION for AVIATION?
Do you Live in NEW ENGLAND? (MA, NH, RI, CT, VT, ME)
Will you be AGE 16-18  in LATE JULY 2013?  (or within 4 weeks after?)

* NOTE: 
When we say we're looking for a DEMONSTRATED AVIATION PASSION, we want to know what ACTION an applicant has taken about their professed passion, not just words of dreams. O
ur winners each demonstrated a true passion for aviation as you'll see in the documents for each winner (Go to the winner page (link below), then click next to a winner's name for a page which has more info about why that youth was selected as a scholarship winner.)

   ON-LINE APPLICATION - SUBMIT completed form by: JANUARY    31, 2013
     SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION - (letter of recommendation, parent's form, grades, etc)
  if via e-mail - send by: FEBRUARY   5, 2013 
  if via snail-mail - postmark by: FEBRUARY   5, 2013
     EAA106 SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE DECISION: FEBRUARY 28, 2013
   Winner(s) must complete EAA's camp application on-line MARCH       31, 2013
   EAA AIR ACADEMY-required paperwork (incl medical) TBD - approx early June '13

Application for the EAA106 scholarship MUST be made using OUR on-line form (link below).
           There are links to other scholarships at the camp link, but ours is separate from EAA scholarships.


DATE of aviation camp our scholarship covers:
EAA's Advanced Air Academy Session #1:   JULY 23-31, 2013 in OSHKOSH, WI

WHO may apply:    
Youth who live in New England (MA, NH, RI, CT, VT, ME)
who will be age16-18 during late JULY 2013.    CLICK HERE for EXCEPTION INFO
NOTE:  EAA does have four types of aviation camps -- for ages 12-13, 14-15, 16-18, & 16-19.
             Our scholarship is only for the 16-18 "Advanced" camp - Only Session #1 for 2013.

WHAT our scholarship includes:
  Full AVIATION CAMP TUITION ($1,210) (which covers the instruction,
  workshops, lodging, meals, snacks, and aircraft flights) during the one-week camp ...
PLUS:  AIRFARE (est $500-600) for a reasonable schedule flight from a major airport
  in NEW ENGLAND to Appleton, WI and ground transportation (by EAA) to the camp.
NOTE: No money will be awarded.  
  Tuition & airline tickets will be paid directly by EAA Chapter 106.
NOT INCLUDED: Ground transportation between winner's home and the designated New England airport).

CHECKLIST for our scholarship: 
This checklist is part of our more encompassing GUIDELINES & CHECKLIST document.

 1) __  REQUIRED:  ON-LINE application – Contact info, ESSAY QUESTIONS, and more
 2) __  REQUIRED:  SIGNED Consent Form – Signed by applicant & a parent – Email or Snailmail
 3) __  REQUIRED:  LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION – from an adult outside of your family
 4) __  REQUIREDGRADES – most recent, official high school (or 1st year college) grades
 5) __  OPTIONAL:  RESUME including both academic and extracurricular activities & achievements
 6) __  OPTIONAL:  ESSAY to supplement (not in lieu of) required essays (E1-E5) on the application
 7) __  OPTIONAL:  ADDITIONAL INFO for a specific essay question or info the form doesn't cover.
