2013 TRI-MOTOR VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP (BELOW)
But FIRST -- Please read the below explanation of the PHASES OF HELP:
We are honored to be hosting a museum tour stop of the 5AT 1929 Ford Tri-Motor
June 20-23 at the Lawrence Municipal Airport. But these events requires lots of help
both BEFORE the aircraft arrives -- as well as once it's here.
Some of the MOST important help is actually BEFORE the event -- NOW !
PHASES OF HELP, FLYERS, BENEFITS:
PHASE 1 -- HELP on the PLANNING COMMITTEE – Need a few – Still many things to do
Roger Pascoe and Penny Bowman can really use some help with the final planning of this great event, such as helping plan a (possible) car show of antique Fords on Saturday and all model cars on Sunday (shows only possible IF we can get some planning help), also help with additional advertising planning, etc -- Come join the planning committee! PHASE 2 -- FLYERS to draw in the PUBLIC (not just those who go to airports)
ALL of YOU in the area can really help RIGHT NOW by simply putting up FLYERS in your office, pizza shop, convenience store, grocery store, etc While a flyer in an airport is nice, we need MUCH MORE coverage than that -- We want to attract the PUBLIC who won't see a flyer at an airport - that means putting up flyers EVERYWHERE ! A few flyers can be picked up at LWM on June 1 (chapter meeting) or June 9 (Young Eagles) -- or can be printed from here:
PHASE 3 – Help set up banners & signage – Only need a few, but very important !
We will need a few people to form a team to put up banners around town (probably a 1-day effort) and for this, we need a few physically strong people (for hammering in stakes into the hard ground) and some others to assist in the placement & attaching of the banners/signs.
PHASE 4 – SETUP before the Tri-Motor arrives
We'll need a few of you to help with the setup - tents, table, chairs, etc
which we should mostly do on June 19 (day before the Tri-Motor arrives)
with the final set-up on Thurs am, June 20. The Tri-Motor arrives 6/20 ~ Noon-1pm.
PHASE 5 – THE TRI-MOTOR TOUR STOP
