Young Pilot Benefits from Young Eagles, CAP Programs
Alex Agosti took advantage of two well-established youth aviation programs
en route to earning his private pilot certificate on his 17th birthday.

From Young Eagle to U.S. Air Force C-5 Pilot
Matt Anger, who piloted the C-5 Galaxy to Oshkosh, got his start in aviation
after a Young Eagles flight during his senior year of high school.

Former Young Eagle flies world’s only flying B-29
David Oliver was 13 years old when he watched the world’s only flying
B-29 Superfortress land at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 1995. But last week
when “FIFI” touched down at Wittman Regional Airport for the 2011
fly-in convention, Oliver was on the flight deck — at the controls.

9-Year-Old Glides Into Ballooning Record Books
Most 9-year-olds like playing Nintendo DS or Xbox, or maybe basketball
or soccer. But Bobby Bradley isn’t like most 9-year-olds. He proved that
last weekend by becoming the youngest person to fly solo in a balloon.

Former Young Eagle Opens Flight School
Morton got interested in aviation when he was about 12 after his neighbor,
a pilot, recommended he go for a Young Eagles ride.  Travis Morton is a little
like the Energizer Bunny.  He has kept going and going, earning more and more
ratings, since he first earned his private pilot license. Now he’s opened his own
flight school, in hopes of sharing his love of flight with others.

Circle of Flight: Former Young Eagle Flies 500th Young Eagle
In 1995, 8-year-old Bradley Bormuth went on a Young Eagles flight. Eight years later - on his
16th birthday - Bradley soloed. The following year, he passed his checkride and started giving
Young Eagles flights.  Fast-forward to last, Saturday, January 5, 2013: Bradley took youngster
Jeremiah Ford up in the family Cessna 172, marking his 500th Young Eagles flight.
He truly has come full circle.

Former Young Eagle Helps Rescue Alaskan Fishermen

Mark Heussner is a former Young Eagle, fueling his interest in aviation with flights in 1996 and 1998 in a Zenith and Cessna 172 Skyhawk, respectively.  Mark, now a Coast Guard helicopter pilot, became a hero after he rescued five Alaskan fishermen who were stranded on their beached fishing boat.
